I’m André, born in Brazil. Traveler, explorer, adventurer, blogger in my spare time, hands-on, impatient, and cosmopolitan. My purpose is to help other people discover different cultures, places and perspectives.
I started blogging when I was living in India, as I frequently received questions about the same doubts I had before starting my adventure in the land of Gandhi. So why not organize my impressions and opinions in a blog? Soon, I started on a simple blog, a free version of WordPress, at that time only in Portuguese.
As soon as I returned to Brazil at the end of 2013, while I was processing the countless experiences and cultural shocks in my head, ideas for posts did not stop boiling after having lived in India, Egypt, and Serbia, as well as backpacking in the center and east from Europe. I have also lived in Switzerland, Ukraine, and South Africa. From then on, I also started writing in English and Spanish in order to practice both languages, and in the future, I hope to start writing in Hebrew, Russian, Italian, and other languages that I learn.
The name Milione comes from the book Il Milione, written by Marco Polo, in which he recounts his adventures traveling from Europe to Asia. Inspired by the adventures of Marco Polo and my ambition to create new products in the travel & tourism industry, Milione came up with the idea of a travel blog to share tips and travel experiences about different destinations around the world, with no bullshit.
My professional ambition is to create new value propositions for the travel & tourism industry. At the moment, I’m part of the travel startup Tiplr and I write content based on my experiences living in 6 countries, in addition to exploring another 20. I already collaborated with a travel tech newsletter and with other projects in travel content.
In any case, feel free to contact me at andre@milione.net.
