If you’re planning to travel to Balneário Camboriú, about 2 hours from Florianópolis, here I share some tips for travelers looking for cheap restaurants and supermarkets where they can save cash buying groceries. The two mentioned restaurants below are located at Avenida do Estado Dalmo Vieira, known as Avenida do Estado, in the city center, not far from the beach.
The restaurants located along the Avenida Atlântica are usually pricey, the main avenue in the town in front of the beach, frequented mostly by tourists and local affluents. Not an area where to eat if you’re traveling on a budget or not looking for an expensive meal.
As written in this article about Brazil food culture, the cheapest options for eating are the local restaurants that offer “Prato Feito“, also described by its acronym “PF”, where the local workers go for lunch. A “prato feito” usually costs between BRL 15,00 and BRL 20,00 in most places. At more expensive restaurants, you’ll pay between BRL 30,00 and BRL 50,00 for a meal.
Shian Yian
Shian-Yian is a Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of plates including rice, beans, steaks, chicken, salads, and more. I paid around BRL 20,00 eating a buffet with a soft drink included. It’s one of the cheapest restaurants I have seen in Balneário Camboriú.

Churrascaria Ferrari
Churrascaria Ferrari is one of the most renowned steakhouses in Balneário Camboriú, where locals go for steaks and there you can buy a plate including rice, salad, and meat that can be beef, chicken, or pork. A meal costs around BRL13,00 and BRL 15,00.

They open for lunch (from 11:00h to 14:30h) and dinner (from 18:45h to 22:30h).
Supermarkets in Balneário Camboriú
Bistek, Imperatriz and Angeloni are the biggest supermarket retail stores in the Balneário Camboriú region, where you can buy everything from bread to fruits. Angeloni is the most expensive. Other supermarkets where you can buy for cheap prices are DuBom, Meschke and Koch.
