Art Galleries in Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv has lots of art galleries spread along its neighborhoods resuming the cosmopolitan and cultural essence since its foundation. The best days to visit the art galleries in Tel Aviv are from Monday to Thursday, when they are open for a longer time. On other days, pay attention to the opening time! If you don’t have too much time, go straight to Ben Yehuda Street and to Gordon Street.

Mika Gallery

Mika Gallery runs exhibitions of contemporary art. Located at Jaffa Port.

Sommer Gallery

At Rothschild Boulevard, 13. Founded in 1999 by Irit Fine Sommer. The Sommer Gallery promotes Israeli artists and the international art scene, working with international artists, too.

Chelouche Art Gallery

On Mazeh Street, founded in 1985 by Nira Itzhaki. The Chelouche Art Gallery displays along 4 floors new media, video art, sculpture, painting, installation, and photography. Israeli and international art.

Gordon Gallery

Founded in 1966, focused on Israeli fine art. The Gordon Gallery opened the first auction house in Israel. There are 3 Gordon Galleries in Tel Aviv:

  • 95 Ben Yehuda Street (4 floors and emphasis on the video screen)
  • 4 Natan Hachacham Street (open only by appointment)
  • 6 Hapelech Street (emphasis to international art)

For photography lovers!

The Photohouse

Also known as Pri-Or Photohouse, The Photohouse has a large private archive of historical photographs taken by its founder Rudi Weinsseinstein and still owned by his family. The pictures represent important visual memories of Israel since the founding years, showcasing the Israeli culture. There’s also a gift shop with souvenirs inspired by Rudi’s pictures.
